As a valued St. Aubin Technologies client in the health care industry, we would like to let you know that Carbonite is a great backup solution for HIPAA compliance.
Medical Offices are required to backup their data in a way that maintains their HIPAA compliance. If you are not backing up your data through a Carbonite account, your backup is not supported by St. Aubin Technologies, and you are more than likely not HIPAA compliant.
If your office has a Carbonite backup account managed by St. Aubin Technologies, you might need a small checkup to make sure it is HIPAA compliant. Carbonite accomplishes HIPAA compliance through a Business Associate Agreement. Please contact St. Aubin Technologies as soon as possible, either over the phone or via email, to you account checked and updated as needed. Changes required for HIPAA compliance are covered under your current Carbonite registration through St. Aubin Technologies, so please don’t hesitate to call.

During your phone call with one of our technicians, be sure to have your account check to see if there are any newly offered Carbonite services that your office may benefit from. Some new backup plans include improved backup for database driven programs (i.e. onsite EMR systems), and hybrid backups for faster data restoration.
