A little while ago, Microsoft announced the end of Windows XP and Office 2003’s Lifecycle. Support from Microsoft for XP and Office 2003 will end on April 8, 2014.
While we will still offer support services on XP machines and Office 2003 products, we can no longer guarantee these products will work with the latest technologies.
Windows XP was introduced August 24, 2001. It is still the second most popular version of Windows when it was surpassed by Windows 7 in 2012. Windows XP will be 12 years old when its Lifecycle finally ends.
Office 2003 was introduced August 19, 2003 (almost 2 years after XP). Though Office 2003 was not as acclaimed as its release partner, Windows XP, it still has had a very lengthy run, 10 years at its Lifecycle end, and has been very successful.
Migration from these two (2) programs takes time, and it requires down-time. If you are still using these programs, we highly recommend planning for the switch sooner than later.
If you plan for it now, you can do it on your own time. If you wait, the machine will pick the worst possible moment.
